The efficiency of a company can be measured by its ability to control loss. Accidents resulting in personal injury and damage to property of equipment, represent needless suffering and waste.
The safety of the employee, the public, and operation of Pedersen Construction (2013) Inc. and Pedersen Concrete Limited is paramount and every attempt will be made to reduce the possibility of accidental occurrence. Safety shall take precedent over expediency or short cuts.
It is the commitment of Pedersen Construction (2013) Inc. and Pedersen Concrete Limited to ensure a safe, healthy working environment for its employees, to protect from damage and loss, and to promote the safety of all employees and the public who may be affected by their undertakings while they are at work.
Pedersen Construction (2013) Inc. and Pedersen Concrete Limited recognize that every worker has the right work in a safe work environment. Assistance and support is needed, and expected from all workers to protect the Health and Safety of everyone involved. Any accident which occurs while carrying out the company’s business will be regarded as a serious matter and will be thoroughly investigated and acted on to prevent reoccurrence. It is recognized that accidents causing injuries to employees and others, damages to equipment or inefficiencies in operations are preventable. Health hazards and potential loss situations in workplaces can be minimized through leadership by the management team. The support and cooperation by all employees with our Health and Safety Program is necessary for success.
Pedersen Construction (2013) Inc. is vitally concerned with accident prevention and for your overall welfare and safety. All employees are encouraged to participate, cooperate and support the company’s goal for a healthy and accident free workplace. Individually and collectively all employees have a role and responsibility in working towards the company’s Health and Safety Policy to provide safe, healthy and productive work places for themselves and the public. Let’s all attempt to work together to prevent incidents and accidents and from creating unwanted losses and personal harm.
Supervisors will be accountable for the health and safety of workers under their supervision. Supervisors are responsible to ensure that machinery and equipment are safe and that workers work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures. Workers must receive adequate training in their specific tasks to protect their health and safety.
All supervisors, workers and sub-contractors must protect their own health and safety by working in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable Regulations and with safe work practices and procedures established by this company, its clients and the general contractor(s). To implement this policy, Pedersen Construction (2013) Inc. and Pedersen Concrete Limited. Will:
- Consider preventative measures for accidents and illnesses important to both the company and employees
- Maintain adequate first aid facilities
- Maintain an educational program, which will include training, on proper H&S operating procedures
- Insist that all employees work in a safe and healthy manner, observe established accident prevention regulations and use all safety equipment that is provided.
- Maintain an effective H&S program with input from employees.
- Maintain adequate H&S records as required.
Pedersen Construction (2013) Inc. and Pedersen Concrete Limited will comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other related legislated requirements. Every employee must think and act in terms of their own safety and the safety of others when carrying out their daily tasks. Management will direct all employees to conduct themselves as outlined in this manual and that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other related legislated requirements are used as a minimum standard only.
